What’s up guys, my name is Tyler Lowey and thanks for checking out my site!
I get asked a lot, “Are you Super Dave?” or, “Your name isn’t Dave.”
Correct. I am not Dave. Back when I was doing my first internship with The Morning Star, I lived in my buddies parent’s basement. We referred to his dad as Super Dave, because he partied just as hard, or harder than we used to. One night, over a couple beers and games of crib, he started yelling at me to get my life together and start my own blog. Well, here we are. Since its inception, my life hasn’t changed much, but it is a great way to get some of my stories out there for my friends and followers.
My journey in this industry started after I graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2014 with a journalism degree.
I played baseball for four years at TRU and it was the best time of my life. I was involved in an accident on the field my fourth year that cost me my right eye. Turns out, it was for the greater good; I still had my left eye as a spare tire and it gave me a chance to focus more on my career as a sports reporter.
After college, I took a job with The Morning Star in Vernon, B.C. as a sports reporter. It was the best job I have ever had. Unfortunately, the company thought I was expendable and didn’t decide to keep me on their payroll after a year of interning.
I spent a short stint as an associate producer with CBC Radio One in Kamloops, B.C. Since then, I moved on and landed a job near my hometown of Calgary in Strathmore as a sports editor for The Strathmore Times.
I plan on using this site as an opportunity for my friends and I to write about whatever we feel like in regards to sports and life. Outside contributions are not only welcome, they’re encouraged.

Who knows what I might write about, but I bet it will be enjoyable.
